Compatible with GX-400D/D-SS/D-PRO, GX-630D/DB/D-SS, GXC-750D, GXC-760D and many other Akai decks that say RC-17 on the back by the remote connector
Please be aware that I make each remote adapter custom when the order comes in. It could take up to about 10 business days before it ships.
This is not an original Akai RC-17, but, a compatible unit that performs the same functions.
I started making wireless remote adapters back in 2006 for Nakamichi tape decks. Over the years my customers have asked me to create units for all sorts of equipment. I now make wireless remote adapters for

Add wireless remote capability to your Akai tape deck that says on the back that it wants the RC-17 remote

This unit works just like the original Akai RC-17 wired remote, but, wirelessly. It plugs into the back of the tape decks and allows the transport functions (play, stop, record, fast forward, rewind and reverse play) to be controlled wirelessly from across the room. Comes with a universal remote, but, you can use just about any universal remote on the market. Just set it for one of the Sony VCR button codes.
Compatibility List
Akai GX-400D, GX-400D-SS, GX-400D-PRO, GX-630D, GX-630DB, GX-630D-SS reel to reel decks and GXC-750D, GXC-760D cassette deck. Also works with many other Akai tape decks that list RC-17 or RC-18 on the back.
This wireless remote adapter requires an external AC adapter which is now included. Let me know which power plug you need (North America, UK, Australia or EU).
This unit can be programmed, via a set of internal jumpers, to 1 of 4 remote codes (Sony VHS, Sony Beta, Sony 8mm and Sony Laser Disc Player). This allows multiple units to reside in the same room and be independently controlled.
