Description
Vintage Ford tin litho F.D. Chief car made in Japan by DAIYA in the 1950s. This rare toy is in excellent condition with light surface scratching. Paint retains its vivid coloration. The plastic emergency light on the roof and the siren on the hood of the car are present and undamaged. Tinted front windshield, side vent windows and rear window are all intact. Front dash and car interior are fully lithographed. The car has an unusual friction wind-up mechanism on the trunk of the car. You turn the wheel around to hear a siren sound. The wind-up slips at times and the friction motor stops shortly after you stop turning. The car rolls smoothly when given a push. The rubber tires and metal hubcaps are in nice condition. A great and unusual display piece. It measures 9” long and 3.25” wide. Please see photos for details of condition.
