Tower Beacon
that came from the top of a radio tower. This beacon was used to warn approaching aircraft. It was removed due to new technology that was available (modern strobe lights). It is being offered just as it was removed and has not been tested. Inside, there are two 620-watt bulbs that can be removed by the buyer if desired. These beacons are very easy to rewire with lower wattage bulbs. The casing of this item is cast aluminum and all the red lenses that you see are glass. It measures 32 1/2 inches high and is 13 inches in diameter. Condition-wise, it's in good used condition but does have some minor chips on some of the glass edges that it sustained as it was being lowered from the top of the tower. At about 70 pounds, lowering it hundreds of feet to the ground was no easy task!
These beacons look great in a man cave or mount them on a large post in your yard or at your boat dock. I've seen some of them mounted on top of buildings and they also look good atop a structure at a driveway entrance.
Due to its size and fragile nature, I'm only offering this item for local pickup. Pickup will be in High Point, North Carolina. If you decide to purchase, I have no problem holding it for a few weeks if you need the time. Also, I'll be glad to drop it off at no charge to either a local UPS or Fed X Store as long as you work out the shipping arrangements with them.
