    Description

Vickers Supermarine Spitfire Mk V B of 243 Squadron, Print by Barrie A.F. Clark 1978
Published in 1978 by Venture Prints Limited of Bristol, England, Copyright in all countries including the U.S.A. Printed in England.
This is a fabulous print with brilliant colors and it is a rare large print measuring 25-3/4" H x 41-3/4" W. This print is of a painting by world renowned aviation artist Barrie A. F. Clark. The subject is the famous Vickers Spitfire airplane in-flight in all its glory. The depiction of the Spitfire in-flight is so dramatic and the perspective of the Spitfire with the clouds and brilliant blue sky in the background makes the Spitfire scream as the main focus of the art.
This was Published and Printed in England in 1978, so a very difficult print to find. This 43 year old print has been in storage in an art safe environment, in a large black portfolio which kept it out of natural and artificial light. Therefore the colors are magnificent and brilliant with no fading, as it was when it was issued in 1978.

I take special care of EVERYTHING I package & ship, so no worries for the buyer. Many people just roll an art print itself and put it in a small diameter tube with no protection, but I don't. I use an Art Museum Standard shipping format whereby I take a heavy paper stock, longer than the print is wide to protect the edges and long enough to roll the heavy stock into a circle a couple times before I start rolling the print within the heavy stock. I continue rolling the print and heavy stock until the print is completely rolled within. Once print is rolled, I continue rolling with the heavy stock around the print for support. This art museum standard hereby protects the print edges, and by rolling it in this fashion the print does not become creased or edges damaged. This is then put into a large diam. tube w/length to match the length of the heavy paper, preventing the paper and print from sliding back and forth in the tube. Given the heavy paper is much longer that the print it keeps the print within the safety of the paper and prevents the print from sliding around during shipping. This art museum std has worked extremely well. It uses a lot of heavy paper to do this, but it protects the print very well and you receive it the same way I would want to receive something that I purchased; in excellent condition!
