Description
VintagePASTUSHIN Boeing 307 Stratoliner TWA Airlines
, OVERHAULED. One of the rarest birds to ever be produced and generally the most valued of all the Pastushin creations. The TWA Boeing 307 ashtray model was commissioned directly from Jack Frye, TWA president and is the only non-Douglas aircraft type that Victor Pastushin produced.
This particular model is well-known in collector circles as the "Phoenix" ashtray model and a went through a very extensive restoration process. The steps are discussed below:
1)
The
Port Wingtip
was missing and was surgically replaced with a new brass tip (chrome plater's recommendation)
2)
The
Support Arm
was missing so a new arm was created from aluminum.
3)
The
Ball Mount
was missing and due the notorious issue of being a loose mount, A
SANDMAN OVERHAUL
retrofit ball mount system has been installed and the airplane is positionable as originally intended.
4)
The original
Round Tray
was missing so an original was located and added to this project.
5)
The rare
TWA badge
was also missing. We chose to take a different approach and modified a pilot captain's tunic button from 1940 so that it could be mounted, chrome plated and painted to resemble an original.
6)
Upgraded
Metal Propellers and Shafts
were secured. These are removable for safe transport and reduce the issue of damage while ion display.
Due to the extreme rarity and the various repair and upgrades, I am happy to discuss and disclose and questions on the model and our procedures. There are incidental small pitting from the original casting in 1940. Shipping includes professional artifact packaging, tracking, insurance and postal charges. We ship exclusively with FedEx Ground so will require a STREET ADDRESS to ship. GOOGLE
