    Description

US Army Authentic WW2 536 Armored Amphibious Tractor Battalion Patch, H 3.5." Embroidered, Cut edge.
The edges of this patch are miss-cut and protrude out from the embroidered canvass much more than usual ( fairly uncommon characteristic).
The upper quadrant/apex of this patch is "yellow" instead of the usual Gold color found. I included photos to highlight this difference ( fairly uncommon characteristic).
Black light photos included, item does not react/fluoresce "glow."
The 536th Battalion was an Armored Infantry Battalion up until 1942. The Army reorganized it's Armored Divisions in 1943 and the 536th was re designated as an Amphibious Tractor Unit at this time. These units primarily used LVT's (Landing Vehicle Tracked); why the TO&E titled them "tractor" units is odd in of itself. The 536th Battalion served in the battle for the Philippines, most notably The Battle of Leyte Gulf in Oct. 1944.
Due due it's unique characteristics and unit history, I have priced this patch higher than most Armored Battalion patches I have encountered in my collection.
