Exquisitely crafted Unit Crest for the much decorated 1st Battalion of the 351st Infantry Regiment - possibly made while the unit was engaged in active duty during the campaign to re-capture Rome. Composed of heavy silver bullion thread on a black felt background, this unit patch may have been intended for a unit banner or guidon or possibly a jacket. Dimensions are 7" high by 5" wide.
