Original WW2 555th Airborne Inf. Regt. patch

Original  555th Airborne Infantry Regt.  THE TRIPLE NICKELS  patch & separate tab fully embroidered. , 4 different jump wing ovals . All 4 ovals are embroidered on twill. All 4 have cheesecloth backings.  Nothing glows under blacklight. This was the segregated  all black parachute infantry unit of WW2. They spent most of the war putting out forest fires in the US Pacific Northwest.
These are not modern made copies. Original period made pieces.
May be glue residue on back of some pieces.

Anyone who knew my dad would know he only wanted original pieces for his collection. No "Filler" pieces or repros or fakes.
He attended many ASMIC and gun shows around the East Coast and had collector friends around the world.
He said to have just one in a collection brings it all into question.
Pictures of dad are NOT part of sale but are shown for reference of his nearly 30 years of military service both active and in the reserves.
He entered the NY Guard at age 16 in 1943. (His parents signed him in).
He later was in ROTC, graduated and was assigned to the 86th Infantry Division as it was being redeployed to the Pacific.
He served in the Philippines at the end of WW2.
He went into the Reserves after the war and attended college.
He went to jump school in the early 1950's and became very interested in the newly forming Special Forces.
He was part of some of the initial units  of SF in the late 1950's. ( the 303rd SFOD stationed on Staten Island)
During his service, he was part of the 7th, 11th, and 16th Groups. The 16th was redesignated the 19th.
He would become Company Commander of the 19th unit stationed at the White Plains N.Y. Armory.
He retired in 1973 and passed away in 2009.
