The coat of arms in a simple line version (deer lying in front of an open tent, helmet in profile and deer growing on a bead), "HIH" at the top right.
Hirzel, HJ:
[around 1550]. 60 x 44 mm. Copper engraving, minimally stained, one missing spot on the lower right cleanly replaced.

Order number: 11326
Comments: Warnecke 856; Wegmann 3539; Barley 1149. Warnecke and Gerster date the sheet to "15 ..", while Wegmann assigns it to a Hans Jakob Hirzel (1693-1752), pastor in Zurich, who cannot be traced online. Because of the layout of the pages, I tend towards Warnecke and Gerster and don't think it's an 18th century bookplate. Century.
