The dragon tamer alludes to von Groß's activity. In 1896 the 'Ring' was performed again in Bayreuth for the first time after Wagner's death, for which Hans Thoma had designed costumes. "(Böhm, p. 14) From 1859 to 1865 he studied with Schirmer in Karlsruhe and Des Coudres in Basel, then he works in Munich and Frankfurt am Main. From 1899 to 1919 he was an academy professor and gallery director in Karlsruhe. He has designed over 50 bookplates, including many algraphs in the unmistakable Thoma style. - Good copy.
