An Older Vintage D42 "Glider Axe" with Leather Cover

The molded handle is marked "42D 8331" on the left side and "Test for 20000 Volts" on the right side.
There's the winged "A" logo of Auld on the left side of the blade but it's mostly ground off.  I don't see any other markings.
The leather cover is in good condition, pliable and not cracked or hardened.  Each of the brass rivets is marked "55" on the front side.
The edge has been sharpened and it's quite sharp. Be careful when handling this piece.
The overall length is 15-1/4 inches.  The blade is 3/8" thick.
It weighs 2 lb 8 oz.
