97th Infantry Division White Back Patch WWII Original Germany Czechoslovakia

The Patch:
This Auction is for 1 WWII Vintage 97th Infantry Division shoulder patch with a white back.
This patch is in good condition.   There is a bit of scrapbook residue on the back.  It has a very nice white backing.  This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic.
The History:  The 97th Infantry was activated on February 25th, 1943.  It embarked for the European Theater in February of 1945.  Its first action came against Germans trapped in the
Ruhr
pocket.  On April 7th the division crossed the
Sieg
River
and seized Sieburg on the 10th.  They took
Solingen
on the 17th and
Dusseldorf
the next day.  This ended organized resistance in the pocket.  The division continued driving East and ws in
Czechoslovakia
when the war ended.  The 97th passed through the
United States
and ended up on occupation duty in
Yokohama
,
Japan
.

I try not to post items with excessive wear because I want you to get good quality items. I try to post good photos of each item but they get shrunk down when they appear in the listing.
