71st Infantry Division White Back Patch WWII Vintage Germany Austria Europe

The Patch:
This Auction is for 1 WWII Vintage 71st Infantry Division Shoulder patch with a white back.
This patch is in good condition.  There is some scrapbook paper on the back.   It has a very nice white backing.  This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic.
The History: The 71st Infantry Division was activated on July 15th, 1943.  Elements trained with the Second Army until it was sent to
Europe
in January of 1945.  The 71st arrived in
France
on February 6th, 1945 and trained there until relieving the 100th Division.  On March 15th, the 71st attacked and forced the Germans out of their outer positions in the Siegfried Line.  They captured Pirmasens on March 21 and crossed the
Rhine
on the 30th.  They crossed the
Hardt
Mountains
and cut the
Munich
Berlin
. Autobahn near
Bayreuth
.  The 71st drove south along the autobahn and then crossed the
Danube
River
on April 25th.  They crossed into
Austria
and advanced east of
Linz
where they linked up with Russian forces on May 8th.  The division occupied the Austrian city of
Augsburg
until they were sent home in March of 1946.

I try not to post items with excessive wear because I want you to get good quality items. I try to post good photos of each item but they get shrunk down when they appear in the listing.
