    Description

Up for sale is this ticket to see Chief Hale's Fire Fighters at the (London) Hippodrome. Chief George C. Hale was a very successful fire chief in Kansas City, Missouri, between 1882 and 1902. During this time he competed in the International Fireman's Competition in Paris and in London in 1893. He would then enter show business where with 150 horses and 40 wagons he would put on a fire fighting exhibition that thrilled the crowds. Hale was also credited as an innovator in fire fighting, holding over 60 patents in fire fighting equipment.
For sale is a rare ticket for one of his performances at London's Hippodrome. I don't have an exact year for this but probably the late 1890s. This ticket measures 2 3/8" by 6". As you can see it has acquired some wear and damage over the years but still displays nicely, especially for such a rare artifact of this famous fire fighter.
I tried to put in a clickable link to a website with more information on Chief Hale but I'm not sure it will work. If it doesn't you an paste the URL underneath it and check out the page.
